All I’ve ever done is dance. But growing up, I always felt like the largest girl on my team–super tall, wore a size large when everyone else was XS, and the only one with boobs 🫠
I also had severe digestive issues that frequently interfered with dance practices and competitions. It was hard to always perform my best when I often felt my worst.
After college, I didn’t dance at all for nearly FIVE YEARS! Eventually I realized how much I missed dance, and remembered that I always wanted to dance for the NBA or NFL. So I got my booty back in class!
Picking dance back up was the easy part, but, in my journey to become an NFL cheerleader, I struggled hard with body image and disordered eating. I also noticed almost everyone in the pro dance world struggled with the same things as me.
I didn’t look like an NFL cheerleader, so I went to extremes to get the body I *thought* I needed. I didn’t drink or go out for months, I was spending an hour on the stair master every day, and I basically ate zero carbs except vegetables for over a year (spoiler: veggies don’t really count as carbs).
Despite all this, I still hated the way I looked. Not to mention the damage I did to my hormone, thyroid, and gut health due to chronic under-eating and over-exercising.
But, I refused to believe that starving myself was the only way to get what I wanted. I was determined to figure it out without further harming my body or self-esteem.
Now I help dancers get the body they want inside AND out, heal their relationship with food, eat enough to fuel their dancing, support optimal health, and improve their body image.
In working with dancers, I combine my education and experiences to go way beyond calorie counting (no generic meal plans here!) I help you figure out what foods work best for YOU and how much you really need to eat to fuel your dance performance (hint: it’s almost always more than you think).
We also work on improving digestion (goodbye bloating after every meal), increasing energy levels to support the strenuous demands of dance, ensuring you’re getting plenty of nutrients from nourishing whole foods, and creating sustainable, healthy habits that feel effortless.
